Tree Safety Condition Surveys and Reports

JCA Limited specialise in supplying arboricultural advice to Landowners, Estate Managers, Non-Governmental Organisations and Local Authorities. JCA has invested time and technology in developing a computer-based system for managing tree stock for safety purposes. Our consultants are well qualified and experienced in preparing Tree Safety Reports. Our aim is to identify and solve tree problems quickly and effectively whilst providing a management strategy which addresses risk management and budgetary needs. Our reports are high quality products complying with current standards, they are easily read with clear plans and we are proud of our thorough approach and report presentation.

      Homebuyers Survey and Report

At JCA we can complete a thorough and honest homebuyers report into the safety and overall health of any trees that may be of concern quickly, to minimise any disruption to the sale of a property. A homebuyer’s report is often recommended to lenders or estate agents by surveyors and mortgage offers can be withdrawn if a surveyor is concerned about trees close to a property.

Appointing JCA to check the trees around a property prior to purchasing will give you peace of mind, knowing that your new home is unlikely to be influenced by the trees and that, if there is a risk, we will prescribe the best course of action. Health and Safety issues are addressed at the same time for added security.

Homebuyers’ reports are being provided by a number of people with varying degrees of expertise and insurance cover. Lenders are very cautious nowadays and clients are advised to check the surveyor’s qualifications and insurance before commissioning such a report.

      Tree Subsidence Surveys

JCA has dealt with over 4000 tree related subsidence cases for a range of leading insurers, loss adjusters and consulting engineers. Our comprehensive services for tree related subsidence claims include specialized arboricultural survey, heave assessment, root identification, management/supervision of tree works contracts (including installation of root barriers), risk assessment for local authority street trees, and expert witness service for litigating claims.

Sheffield City Council Tree Preservation Orders

Due to the large potential penalties for illegally carrying out work to protected trees, it is important that the correct procedures are followed if trees are subject to a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) or are within a Conservation Area.

If you wish to undertake work on a protected tree, JCA can prepare a report to support your application. We are also available to submit an application form/notice of intent to Sheffield City Council on your behalf outlining the works proposed on protected trees.
